What is a tea infuser?

How do you prepare your tea?

Some tea drinkers will only drink tea from a pot.

Some people are quite happy with drinking via a traditional tea bag.

At BOUTEA, we provide our teaas both traditional loose leaf as well as in tea pyramids so that the leaves can fully expand during steeping and you can enjoy the full BOUTEA experience.

More and more tea enthusiasts are getting behind the full tea drinking experience. It is not enough to drink and enjoy tea, it is also about preparing the tea.

When drinking tea on your own, we believe using a tea infuser adds to the ceremony of preparing and enjoying tea. It is becoming an essential part of the tea drinking ritual for tea enthusiasts.

A tea infuser is a great way to really enjoy the complex flavours of your loose leaf tea of choice.

So what is a tea infuser?

A tea infuser is a tool that allows you to steep full-leaf loose tea leaves instead of using tea bags with which many of us are familiar. It holds full-leaf loose tea leaves together, often in a mesh ball or basket, and keeps leaves from floating freely through your cup.

Tea infusers allow your premium tea leaves to unfurl and expand, rewarding you with their full flavor potential. It is simply a fantastic way to enjoy and savour tea.

This is why we love to drink our large leaf, loose leaf tea with them, especially when preparing tea for one.

Tea infusers come in different styles and sizes and are a fun, but simple tool to steep the perfect cup of tea.

The key is to be patient and allow the appropriate steeping time for each particularly loose leaf tea variety. For example, for full-leaf loose green tea, allow to steep for 2-4 minutes. If you are enjoying a full-leaf loose black, allow between 3-5 minutes.

After the tea has finished steeping, remove the infuser and allow it to cool before taking your first sip.

We did some quick online research to seek out some unusual tea infusers and I see some of these in my future.
